Mine would tell me I couldn't be gay because I was his son.
And then he'd warn me not to tell anyone, even if I was, because it would reflect badly on him.
I know this because that's what he did say. I told him he was an idiot. he had trouble with the concept that I could say that to him.
This was 17 years ago. He's still convinced I'm not gay, and I still call him an idiot.
